4x4 Vehicle Insurance

Danger! Did you ever consider that you may have no insurance cover when you drive off-road with your existing insurance policy? The moment you drive off the National Road Grid, and especially on private property, it is necessary to have special insurance to cover your vehicle.

Club member Peter Norenius, is the insurance broker who provides a specific 4x4 insurance package which provides full off-road cover at a special rate to the Four Wheel Drive Club of Southern Africa members.

Cross Country Insurance Consultants are the underwriting managers who devised this specific 4x4 package, using Hollard Insurance Company who are the risk carriers. The full name of the policy is "Cross Country All Terrain Insurance". For more details click here.

One of the things that is often overlooked is that conventional motor vehicle insurance does not usually cover your vehicle when you leave a public road, should you indulge in "off-road" motoring.

Most conventional motor policies usually have restricted territorial limits which will inhibit your proposed over the border travels. This policy covers you for all the territories as follows: South Africa, Namibia, Angola, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland, Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.

911 Medical Rescue is included together with various vehicle repatriation options in the event of an accident, mechanical or electrical breakdown. These services are accessed by contacting 911.

In addition to your 4x4 vehicle this policy can also cover:

1. Quads, all terrain vehicles (ATVs), off-road motorcycles and mountain bikes.
2. Caravans and trailers.
3. Camping, hiking, climbing, photographic and viewing equipment.
4. All firearms and hunting equipment.
5. Scuba diving equipment.
6. Fishing and boating equipment including ski boats and pleasure cruisers, canoes inflatables, surf boards, paddle skis and jet skis
7. Other sports and outdoor equipment.
8. Cell phones, car phones, vehicle audio equipment, GPS units and two way radios.
9. Outdoor wearing apparel and personal effects.
