Renovations to the Base 4 clubhouse

Base 4 - the home of the Four Wheel Drive ClubThe first Sunday of every month is what we call "Open Day" when the club facilities at Base 4  are open to all - members and non-members. Base 4 is situated 800m off the R511 in Doornrantjes. (Click here to see Map)

There is always a meeting for new members around midday when they are told about the different facilities that the club offers. It is also possible to meet people concerned with the various divisions and to ask questions.

You should bring chairs and food for a braai. Normally fires are provided. The pub is usually open and people gather in the clubhouse and in groups around the property. Click here to see the Open Day programme.

The Base 4 property, which is fully owned by the club, is a 14 ha area situated 800m off the R511 in Doornrantjes near Hennops. (Click here to see map) 

It is a quiet, tranquil place where you as a member can camp and relax or just spend the day, have a braai, test your vehicle and meet fellow members with the same interests. There is a lapa area with braai and picnic facilities, a play area for the children and rustic but full ablutions with hot and cold water. The grassed camping area is well maintained and protected by many trees offering shade in the heat of the day.

The clubhouse, situated on the grounds, is ideal for private functions with full modern ablutions, a hall, bar and conference room. The swimming pool is also a great attraction for the children and also provides a place for the adults to cool off or just laze around.

There are a number of off-road obstacles for you to drive and test your skills. (We recommend that you complete our driver training course before attempting the more serious obstacles. See the Driver Training section.) The lapa, clubhouse and/or grounds can be hired for private or business functions at a fee - see below. Hiring Base 4

Prices include VAT.

Clubhouse
Rates include the use of the kitchen, toilets, 10x tables and 100x chairs, 10x table cloths, cutlery and crockery and bar fridge. However, this must be arranged with Estates / Events when making the booking. All rates include VAT.

Rates are quoted for the day 06h00 am to 24h00 pm midnight. If the facilities are required to set up decor the day before and removal thereafter then a further charge of R500 will be incurred. Arrangements must be made with the Events Portfolio Holder as to when removal of the event goods will be done. 

The Four Wheel Drive Club of SA will not be held responsible for any losses incurred by anyone hiring the venue or their caterers or people attending the event. 

If staff is required then notice must be given in advance. Their working hours are from 08h00 am to 17h00 pm. Should you require staff after 17h00 pm then this will be at an hourly rate of R25 per hour per person overtime. 

If a barman is required the charge is R400 from 19h00 pm to midnight. Arrangements are to be made in advance.

Non-Members R 3,000 per day
Corporate R 4,500 per day
 

Conference Room
Rates include the use of the Conference Room and toilets only. Use of the Proxima data projector etc. is to be arranged when making the booking.  All rates include VAT.
Members R 500 per day
Non-Members R 1000 per day
Corporate R 2000 per day

Lapa
Rates include the use of the Rustic Ablution Block. All rates include VAT.
Members (with Base 4 access card) R 400 per day
Non-Members R 800 per day

Camping
Rates include the use of the Rustic Ablution Block. All rates include VAT.
Members (with Base 4 access card) Free
Non-Members R 150 per vehicle per day max 4 people

A refundable deposit of R1000 to cover breakage/loss is payable in advance. The terms and conditions for the booking and usage of Base 4 are available on request.
